Trondheim, Norway - One of the biggest shopping centres in Finland, Sello, located in Espoo, Helsinki’s metropolitan area, has selected Placewise to provide their digital services. The popular 102,000m2, Sello Centre has more than 170 shops and services, including a concert hall, hotel, and a library. This is the second shopping centre in Finland to select Placewise as their proptech partner in less than a month.
According to Kristian Nordtomme, Chief Commercial Officer at Placewise “Some sources say as many as 90 percent of Finns are members of at least one loyalty program, and eighty percent are in more than one program”. But until recently shopping centres in Finland didn’t offer digital loyalty programs to their shoppers. “There was a time in the retail real estate industry, when loyalty programs were considered the domain of retailers, centres left the customer relationships up to brands. Retailers are smart, they’ve been investing in loyalty for years. We’re seeing increased interest from shopping centres all over the world, who now see the valuable asset customer relationships have proven to be for retailers and they want to get started yesterday.”

The target launch for Sello’s new Shopper loyalty program and mobile app is late August this year.
